In his quest to seek out people and ideas shifting how the world works to make it better, Scott Henderson checks in with Patty Huber, the head of Groupon Grassroots.

Groupon Grassroots, formerly known as G Team, has turned the Groupon platform into a tool for organizations and individual community organizers to connect with new supporters. As Huber states, Groupon Grassroots aims to address these organizations’ genuine needs through compelling storytelling and simple calls-to-action.

In line with Groupon’s culture of unique copywriting, Huber explains that organizations are chosen based not only on the impact of their work but the originality of their story and cause. On the other end, organizations are not only able to launch campaigns, but also learn vital skills of how to communicate and inspire individuals to mobilize towards a tangible goal. Regardless of the results of their campaign, they walk away with many lessons learned.
